What a horrible thing to have happened to such a sweet little boy. As a mother I can't understand how any mother could just stand by and watch her child be treated in such a horrible way and not try to do anything. I would have died myself trying to protect my child. Children are so innocent, why do people hurt and murder them when they are so totally helpless. It is my prayer that justice is done to the people that hurt this precious little boy. Elijah you can now rest in peace knowing that you are in Heaven with the other angels who went before you and that you will never have to suffer such cruelty again. You are in my prayers always.

As i sit here and read this memorial site i have cried and cried, i lost my baby boy back in November 20,2006 he was my first baby, i as a mother cant believe that a mother would sit there and watch her beautiful little boy get beat to death like that, my heart is so heavy right now i am at loss for words, i just cant believe someone could be so cruel and mean as to beat a child to death like this. Our children are so precious. That beautiful baby boy is now in heaven probably making my sweet Tyler giggle and smile so big. He is in a much better place now, he wont suffer any longer no more beatings no more crying no more waking up or going to bed scared, He is in the loving hands of God. Blessed little boy angel, my heart aches at what you were forced to endure.
I'm happy you're now in the arms of Jesus, no-one can ever hurt you again.
I pray there will be justice on earth for the evil people who did this to you, if not, we'll leave them to Jesus. I don't think he will look kindly at cruelty to one of his blessed little angels.

As a mother who lost her daughter while pregnant and now grieving. Reading about this poor little soul has made me ill. How could two grown adults hurt a sweet innocent child? How evil does one have to be? I pray that little Elijah is at peace and that the one's who has put him in harm will get all they deserve. Death Penalty as one mentioned may be too easy. Punishment and a life in hell is what they deserve for harming this sweet little boy.
To all of Elijah's family who are left grieving...my heart is in pain for you as I know how hard it is loosing a child. My thoughts and prayers are always with you all. God Bless.

How sad. I passed by this website and read the story of how Elijah was abused and murdered.I pray for justice to be done. There are so many moms and dads out there that want children and they have lost them in many different ways or cannot have children and want a child like Elijah to love!! This abuse has to stop!!! Our Children are a great gift from GOD!!! We should feel very blessed to have them. I have 4 of my own and never would I let some one hurt them in any way shape or form. SO I do pray for justice and I pray for this sweet angels family and all who loved Elijah!! Just look a that sweet little face of his... how could you even think of hurting him???!!! I will stand up against the abuse and murdered children because this has to stop. May god bless the family he leaves behind!!

To a sweet angel in heaven.... I know life was not great. Things didn't go the way everyone plans it too. You are in no pain... But leaving this earth. Has left friends and family members missing you. Elijah You are angel in heaven. Free from pain. No one can do harm to you. I'm sorry to hear that your mommy was not able to help you. Seeing the scary in her face when she told your story. I see her as in harms way too. My heart goes out to this mommy. Now is see that she has lost everything in life. But she is still your mommy. She did love you no matter what. Things happen in life that no one can change. And the one thing that happen to you all. This man that said he loved her. Harmed you all, and had no reason to do what he did. I just wish the CPS would have been there for you. But like any other time your state failed you so much.

Sad indeed, but whats disturbing is how the parents showed a lack of love for their young ones. Surly raising children today is hard.Yet how hard on young children when they are abused by those who are supposed to love them. God's word plainly calls children "an inheritance from god and a reward"(Psalm 127:3) Would they treat an material inheritance that way?.. How much more valuable little Elijah life was. he was such a cute baby. the first time i heard the story on wlfi (news channel in lafayette indiana) i cried and held my own son so close. i could not imagine what that family is goin through. most of all i cant beleive his mom didn't try to stop the beating. what was she scared for her own life? if so that is still no reason to sit there and watch some one kill your child. all i know is that if anyone ever tried to hurt my baby like that i would not sit back and watch. she deserves to be were she is right now. that poor baby did not deserve to spend his last hours on earth that way. i hope she gets just as much time as he does. sorry about ranting but i have so many emotions about this. rest in peace handsome man watch over your brother and the rest of your family. so sorry that you had to go through all of that torture for no reason.
